Car Access
Atmel®, having launched its first dedicated car access transmitter in 1997, recognizes the importance of security in the automotive area, and as such offers a range of car access solutions from immobilizers to full-duplex transceivers perfect for the prevention of automotive theft. Atmel's automotive safety portfolio also features the extremely secure Passive Entry Go (PEG) solutions.
Atmel provides all devices needed to design a complete car access system solution. Customers have the freedom to create their own dedicated designs using Atmel's low-power transmitter IC family, receiver IC family, and microcontroller family. Atmel recently extended their car access portfolio with a new receiver family, which offers higher integration, better sensitivity, and ultimately lower application costs.
Atmel not only provides devices for current car access systems, mainly built up with 2 separate links, but also supports next-generation systems with bi-directional RF link and dedicated LF wake-up channel for PEG systems.
Atmel car key ICs continue to provide a larger memory to serve as an interface between home applications (e.g., garage doors or alarm systems) and the car. A partnership with Atmel's existing AVR® 8-bit microcontrollers enables sophisticated RF systems with low power consumption and high computing power.
